We are looking for a proactive and organised Campaigns & Democracy Assistant to join our Student Influence team on a part-time, fixed-term basis until July 2027. This is an exciting opportunity for a current student who is passionate about student voice, democratic engagement and creating positive change within the University community.

As a Campaigns & Democracy Assistant, you will provide essential administrative and practical support to help deliver the Union’s democratic processes, campaigns and student engagement activities. You will work closely with the Senior Democracy Coordinator, campaign groups and elected Executive Officers to ensure students can effectively engage with the Union’s democratic structures and campaigning opportunities.

About You

To succeed as a Campaigns & Democracy Assistant, you will be highly organised, reliable and enthusiastic about supporting student engagement. You will be comfortable managing administrative tasks while also providing practical support for events and projects.

We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate:

* Strong organisational and time-management skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Good attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
* Confidence using Microsoft Office and online systems.
* A commitment to student representation, inclusion and positive change.
* The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

As a Campaigns & Democracy Assistant, you will gain valuable experience supporting democratic processes, campaigning initiatives and student leadership programmes while making a meaningful contribution to the student experience at the University of Manchester.

Hours: approximately 10 hours per week

Eligibility: Open to applicants with relevant skills and experience who are eligible to work in the UK and a current student at either UoM, MMU or UoS graduating in 2027 or later.
